Brauhaus Schmitz converts Philadelphia's stone-castle 23rd Street Armory into an indoor Oktoberfest tent for its eighth year, running three ticketed sessions across a Friday and Saturday. Hofbrau beer is poured into liter mass glasses around a forty-foot centrepiece, with bratwurst, roast chicken, a pig roast and thousands of pretzels on the food side. Live oompah bands and traditional German dance performances carry each session, and the Saturday afternoon slot routinely sells out ahead of time.
