The Asheville Downtown Association runs a free afternoon Oktoberfest through the South Slope brewery district, walkable from downtown. Twenty-plus local breweries, cideries, wineries and distilleries pour along Coxe Avenue alongside German-style food vendors and live music. An optional tasting pass is sold for those who want a guided sampling route.
