New Bern's Breakfast Rotary has turned an evening Oktoberfest into its main annual fundraiser, now in its fifteenth year at the riverfront convention centre. The Little German Band & Dancers lead a grand parade into the hall, and a caterer serves bratwurst, schnitzel and potato salad with beer from a local brewery. Proceeds fund the club's Kicks 4 Kids shoe programme and community scholarships.
