Cleveland Oktoberfest runs six days across two weekends at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds southwest of the city, starting on Labor Day weekend. It bills itself as the largest outdoor annual event in Cleveland, anchored by the Weihenstephan Fest Tent and imported German bands such as Dorfrocker. The programming reaches well beyond beer and bratwurst: wiener dog races, a Masskrugstemmen strongman competition, a 5K Bier Run, a Volkswagen show, sand sculpting and marionette performances. Kids under 12 get in free, parking is free, and well-behaved leashed dogs are welcome.
