Concordia Oktoberfest

Concordia Lutheran Ministries opens its Cabot retirement campus for a free Saturday-evening Oktoberfest that mixes a German-themed menu with small-town fair attractions. The Mikey Dee Polka Band plays for three and a half hours before a fireworks display closes the night. Pork roast, kielbasa, bratwurst, pretzels and beer are sold alongside a bake sale, and there are hayrides, a bounce house, pumpkin decorating and a balloon artist for children. Campus tours and a flu shot clinic run in parallel, which tells you it is as much a community open day as a beer festival.
