North Alabama's largest German heritage festival, staged over four days at Depot Park in downtown Cullman, a town founded by German immigrants in the 1870s. Three covered biergartens pour imported and local beer while street musicians, a parade and a full contest schedule run through the weekend. Wiener dog races, stein hoisting, brat eating and best-dressed contests share the grounds with a children's Kinderbereich, carnival rides and a 110-foot Ferris wheel. Admission to the festival itself is free.
