Das Alpenhaus Delikatessen Oktoberfest

Boise's German delicatessen shuts its retail counter for a long weekend each September and turns its Vista Avenue lot into a small Oktoberfest. The shop closes entirely for two days beforehand just to build the venue, which gives some sense of the scale relative to a deli. It is the most genuinely German of the Boise-area events, run by the people who sell the wurst and the imported beer the rest of the year.
