The Delaware Saengerbund runs the state's flagship German festival over three days on its own grounds outside Newark. Friday evening opens with a parade led by the Muenchner Kindl, and the weekend fills with German food and drink, Bavarian dancing by the Enzian Volkstanzgruppe, and music from the Enzian Musikanten and the German band Brotzeitmusi. A single low admission price covers unlimited amusement rides, which makes it unusually family-oriented for a German-society festival.
