Estacada, a small Clackamas County town on the way to Mount Hood, closes its downtown intersection for a one-day Oktoberfest now in its fourth year. The Downtown Estacada Commission runs it with polka music, traditional German food and beer, and a costume contest. Pumpkin painting and a pie-eating contest give it a harvest-fair feel alongside the Bavarian side.
