German Family Society Oktoberfest

The German Family Society of Akron throws a three-day Oktoberfest on its own club grounds in Brimfield Township, just outside Kent. The weekend leans hard on the club's heritage programming: polka and traditional German bands, folk dance groups from the society's own youth and adult troupes, and a kitchen turning out schnitzel, sausages, cabbage rolls and roast chicken alongside imported beer. A playground, bounce house, train rides and balloon artists keep it workable for families, and a German goods vendor sells imports on site.
