Guttenberg is a Mississippi river town founded by German settlers, and its GermanFest has marked that heritage for 35 years. Two days of music, food and contests take over the downtown and the riverfront, with a 5K, yodelling and stein-holding competitions, keg rolling, wiener dog races and cook-offs for sauerkraut, potato salad and German desserts. Saturday closes with fireworks over the river.
