Harpoon has been brewing an Octoberfest beer since 1989 and has built a two-day festival around it at its Boston Seaport brewery. The Friday evening session runs as a separate after-dark party, with a longer traditional session on Saturday afternoon. Competitions in stein hoisting, chicken dancing and pretzel eating run alongside live bands and DJs, and the tented site operates rain or shine. Entry is 21 and over only.
