The alpine-styled town of Helen in the north Georgia mountains runs the longest Oktoberfest season in the country, stretching from mid-September to the start of November in its riverside Festhalle. Weekends-only in September, the celebration shifts to nightly programming through October. A downtown parade on the second Saturday of September kicks the season off.
