The Borough of Highlands has run this bayfront Oktoberfest for 25 years, filling Veterans Park on the Shrewsbury for an afternoon of oompah and polka bands, Bavarian folk dancing and a long German menu prepared by a local restaurant. Contests for best-dressed and for stein holding run through the day, alongside craft and specialty vendors. Admission and parking are both free.
