McKinney Oktoberfest

Now in its nineteenth year, McKinney's Oktoberfest closes down the historic downtown square for a three-day Bavarian weekend. Bands and cultural performers play through the afternoons while vendors pour German beer and serve traditional food, and a ticketed VIP Biergarten offers its own pours and menu. The signature contests are a stein-holding showdown that starts as police versus fire before opening to all comers, and a field of weenie dog races. Admission is free, with collectible steins, artisan goods and official merchandise sold on site.
