Charlotte's longest-running brewery Oktoberfest, thrown by the German-style Olde Mecklenburg Brewery across four weekends and two of its locations. The biergartens fill with German cooking - pretzels with beer cheese, sausage and schnitzel - alongside live bands, lawn games and a steinholding competition. The brewery marks the opening of each run by releasing its one-liter glass boots, 'Das Boot'.
