The Wildwood boardwalk amusement operator dresses Mariner's Pier in Bavarian trim for four straight weekends each autumn. Roaming musicians and live bands play through the biergarten while the kitchens turn out German fare, and stein-holding contests run on a fixed daily schedule with a children's division alongside the adult one. A ceremonial keg tapping opens the run, timed to the finish of the Boardwalk Bier Run two-mile race. The pier's rides and games stay open, which makes it an unusual mix of amusement park and beer festival.
