New Berlin Festival

North Canton was called New Berlin until the First World War, and this chamber-run street festival is built on that German heritage. Main Street closes for the afternoon while the Hoover Lawn becomes a biergarten pouring German-style beers from several breweries, with homemade German food and the Chardon Polka Band closing out the day. The contest list is the draw: sausage tossing, alpenhorn blowing, yodelling, wiener dog races and competitive hot wings. Entry is free and a beer passport can be bought in advance or on the day.
