Northeast Nebraska's German settlement and the end of harvest are the occasion for this two-day festival in downtown Norfolk, now in its fourteenth year. Live polka bands play over a beer garden while the competitive programme runs to cornhole for youths and adults, big wheel races, wiener dog races, a Masskrugstemmen stein hold and a cook-off. A Lions Club parade and a dedicated kids' zone keep it squarely a family event.
