The village of North Aurora turns its riverfront park over to a one-day Bavarian party on the first Saturday of October. Three bands rotate through the day, a stein-and-token system covers the beer, and the afternoon is padded out with dachshund races, stein holding and a costume contest. Entry costs nothing and the food line-up leans heavily on German and Eastern European vendors.
