Notch Oktoberfest

Notch Brewing's session-lager biergarten on the Salem waterfront holds a single-day Oktoberfest each September, pouring a limited pitch-lined festbier alongside grilled Leberkase and sausage specials. The TubaFrau Hofbrau Band plays, and the afternoon is structured around competitions: masskrug hoisting, pretzel eating, a mliko speed test and a best dirndl and lederhosen contest. A commemorative half-litre steinkrug goes on sale while supplies last. It is strictly twenty-one and over, and no dogs are allowed.
