Oktoberfest at Camp Richardson

Camp Richardson Resort turns its lakeside grounds on the south shore of Lake Tahoe into a two-day Bavarian weekend in early October. Admission is free, with a beer and wine garden pouring seasonal brews, bratwurst and apple strudel from resort kitchens and food trucks, German bands playing through both afternoons, and artisan vendor booths along the shore. Face painting, crafts and games keep the festival genuinely aimed at families, and a stein-holding competition runs for the adults.
