The Catholic Community of South Baltimore holds a one-day Oktoberfest at Holy Cross in Federal Hill, the neighborhood's historic German parish. The free afternoon event serves bratwurst, knockwurst, frankfurters, German potato salad and soft pretzels with a range of beers, while a live polka band plays. Kids' games, wheels of chance, a silent auction and a cash raffle round out a compact parish festival that welcomes all ages.
