The ICONA resort in Avalon closes out its shore season with a one-afternoon Oktoberfest at its beach bar. Entry costs nothing; the money is in a souvenir stein that comes with a draft beer, or in renting a fire pit or cabana for a group. Seasonal and house-brewed beers are poured alongside oversized pretzels and bratwurst, with live music and lawn games on the sand.
