The Gatlinburg ski resort turns its mountaintop into a Bavarian village for five weeks each autumn, pairing blue-and-white checked decor and oversized steins with genuine Smoky Mountain leaf season. A biergarten at the top of the tram pours five German-style beers brewed by Yee-Haw alongside chicken schnitzel, sausages, turkey legs and pretzels, and rotating bands play an outdoor stage most of the run. Stein-holding and barrel-roll contests punctuate the schedule, and there is no separate festival ticket - you pay only for the tram and the mountain activities you want.
