The Village at Palisades Tahoe fills its pedestrian plaza with a Bavarian fest for one Saturday each September, set against the Olympic Valley peaks. A twenty-piece Bavarian band, alphorn players and dance troupes perform through the afternoon, and three OktoberGames contests are free for anyone who wants to enter. Ticket tiers run from a small entry donation to a package with a commemorative half-litre stein, and children twelve and under get in free.
