Oktoberfest at Put-in-Bay

Lake Erie's island village turns its waterfront green space into a two-day German celebration each October. Restaurants from around the island cook bratwurst, potato pancakes and apple dumplings while a polka band and traditional dancers keep the park lively. A single low-cost pass covers the weekend, and the beer comes from the island's own brewery. The event has run for more than three decades.
