Oktoberfest at Schifferstadt

Schifferstadt is one of the oldest German colonial houses in Maryland, and its preservation foundation builds a two-day Oktoberfest around it as the year's main fundraiser. German food and drink and traditional music share the grounds with house tours, historic demonstrations and an artisan market, and entry to the festival itself is free. It is a distinctly heritage-led take on the format rather than a beer tent.
