The Athenaeum Hotel at Chautauqua Institution hosts a late-October Oktoberfest dinner rather than an outdoor festival. The Bergholz German Band performs traditional folk music in full traditional dress while a German-style feast is served family-style in the hotel's Heirloom Restaurant. A cash bar pours German beers into the late evening. Guests can book the dinner alone or an overnight package that bundles a room, the Saturday dinner and Sunday breakfast.
