The Hale Koa, the Armed Forces Recreation Center resort on Waikiki, stages a two-night Oktoberfest in its Banyan Tree Show Room with overflow seating on the covered outdoor lanai. Each evening is a seated buffet of sauerbraten, halbe hendl, krustenbraten and bratwurst with a full bar pouring a special Oktoberfest beer, backed by a live Bavarian band. Guests are encouraged to turn up in dirndl and lederhosen. Access is restricted: a valid active or retired US military or DoD ID is required.
