Oktoberfest Charleston

Charleston's downtown Lutheran congregation stages a one-day Oktoberfest on its King Street campus, with a biergarten pouring local craft beer beside stalls of German cooking and a German bakery. Live music runs through the day and is joined by German choral singing and hymns from the church's own musicians. A Kinderzone keeps children occupied, and a costumed Martin Luther circulates alongside city officials. Entry costs nothing; food and drink are bought with separate tickets, and proceeds support the church's ministries.
