Moon Hill Brewing and the Gardner Ale House close down Parker Street for a free, all-ages Oktoberfest street party that runs most of a Saturday. A German beer garden and a menu of sausages, sauerkraut, potato salad and pretzels anchor the day, with a steinholding contest at midday and live bands from mid-afternoon. The event's local signature is the Gardner Chair Luge, a nod to the city's furniture-making history, and it opens with a morning Run For A Beer.
