Oktoberfest: German Kickoff at Shipgarten

Shipgarten opens its Oktoberfest season with a free Saturday afternoon of Bavarian games and beer in its sprawling Tysons-area beer garden. More than fifty international beers are poured, brewery reps work the crowd, and guests can try pretzel toss, stein hoisting and keg curling for prizes. Live music runs into the early evening, a costume contest hands out gift cards, and lawn games and an on-site dog park keep the yard busy.
