A three-day riverfront Oktoberfest in downtown Peoria, staged jointly by the German-American Central Society and the Peoria Park District since 1996. The grounds spread across Festival Park and Marshall Plaza on the Illinois River, with a Biergarten stage and a main "auf die Wies'n" stage running German bands all weekend. Competitions run through the schedule, including men's and women's Maßkrugstemmen (stein holding) and a log-sawing contest, and a companion 5K, Der Bier Lauf, is part of the weekend.
