The grounds of a landmarked Rock Island estate host a one-day Oktoberfest that raises money for the building's restoration. The afternoon is free and family-oriented, with games, brats, pretzels and popcorn, before a ticketed evening built around a beer garden and the Gutenberg German Band. A ceremonial keg tapping opens the paid portion at four, and a costume contest crowns a king and queen at six.
