OktoberWest

Now in its eighteenth year, OktoberWest takes over Washington Street West on Charleston's West Side and bills itself as West Virginia's largest traditional German Oktoberfest and one of the state's biggest craft beer festivals. More than a hundred craft brews are poured, including limited Oktoberfest and German styles, with local food vendors and two stages of live music and a DJ. The OktoberWest Games - stein holding, keg rolling, sausage toss, best traditional dress and a beer belly contest - run from the east stage, and proceeds fund Charleston Urban Works' public art and neighbourhood revitalisation work.
