St. John's Oktoberfest

A downtown Lawrence parish has run this one-evening Oktoberfest for three decades, cooked almost entirely by volunteers. The menu leans hard on German-American parish-festival staples: handmade bierocks, pork schnitzel, cabbage rolls, German potato salad and bratwurst, with German beer and cider alongside. Polka plays under a tent in the parish parking lot from late afternoon until close.
