The Germanic-American Institute stages its largest annual fundraiser on the grounds of its Summit Avenue mansion, packing two days with polka bands, cultural performances and German food. Entry is free and a wristband unlocks beer for adults, which keeps the event accessible to families. The institute traces back to the Volksfest Association founded in 1957.
