Summerville Oktoberfest

Summerville's Rotary Club fills Hutchinson Square, the green at the centre of the historic downtown, for a free six-hour Oktoberfest. German food vendors and artisan booths ring the square while bands play through the afternoon and a 21-and-over beer garden operates off to one side. A stein-holding contest at four o'clock is the day's main competition. Children have a zone with games, crafts and inflatables, and leashed dogs are welcome.
