Sumter closes part of North Main Street for a ticketed evening Oktoberfest that raises money for a local relief and housing charity. A German menu is served alongside craft beer from the town's own brewery, and the Dirndl Dames play traditional music into the evening. A children's corner with a slide, a balloon artist and ice cream keeps it a family event.
