SurlyFest is Surly Brewing's self-consciously irreverent take on Oktoberfest, a single long Saturday in its Prospect Park beer garden and beer hall. The day stacks a full live music lineup against sausage tossing, stein chugging and holding, team boot chugging, musical steins, relay races and a late-afternoon hot dog eating contest, with best-dressed awards for anyone in lederhosen. Kids' activities start when the gates do, and the beer hall runs German-inspired food for a stretch of days around the festival.
