A two-day street festival that fills the historic Uptown district of Jackson, in southeast Missouri, with German food, beer and music each October. The weekend opens Friday evening with a ceremonial keg tapping and runs all day Saturday with a 5K, a costumed pet parade, wiener dog races and a German cuisine cook-off. It is run as a fundraiser by the volunteer group that works on revitalising the Uptown business district.
