Vandalia Oktoberfest

Vandalia's sister-city association puts on a two-day Oktoberfest at the city sports complex, built around the town's German twinning program. The kitchen turns out cabbage rolls, bratwurst, schnitzel, potato salad and pretzels, and the bar pours Hofbrau and Paulaner Oktoberfest alongside craft and domestic beer. The stein hold competition doubles as a USSA state qualifier, and the two days run polka bands, dance groups, a DJ and music bingo. Arts and crafts booths ring the grounds.
