The City of Waukesha runs its Oktoberfest over two evenings in Frame Park along the Fox River. Entry is free and the city keeps it that way by selling a $2 wristband to anyone who wants to buy beer. German bands and dancers play across the weekend while vendors sell brats, schnitzel and pretzels, and the crowd competes in a Maßkrugstemmen stein-holding contest and a best-dressed contest. Families get a Little Lederhosen Express train and other children's activities, and a laser-hosen light show closes out the night.
