White Plains Oktoberfest

Downtown White Plains closes a stretch of Mamaroneck Avenue for a Sunday-afternoon street Oktoberfest run by the city's business improvement district. A beer tent anchors the block with Bavarian food from local restaurants and an oompah band, alongside stein-holding and hot dog toss competitions. A separate family zone, the Alpine Village, runs the first four hours with free kids' crafts, mini golf and an all-ages DJ, so the event works for families and drinkers at the same time.
