Fredericksburg's Oktoberfest weekend opens with a morning road race through town, run by the local Rotary club. Entrants pick an 8K, a timed 5K or an untimed 5K walk, all starting from the school district's central offices a few blocks off Main Street. Entry money goes to the club's literacy and youth work.
