Wurstfest is a ten-day German-Texan celebration held each November on the grounds beside the Comal River in New Braunfels. The festival pairs Bavarian and Alpine bands playing across several tents and halls with sausage, German and Texas beer, dancing, carnival rides and games. Weeknights are free to enter, weekends are ticketed, and children twelve and under get in at no charge every day. The run opens with a ceremonial sausage biting and keg tapping.
