The Ellis County parish south of Dallas hosts a one-day Oktoberfest on its own church grounds, running from mid-morning into the evening. The parish recruits craft and food vendors and sponsors each year, so the day works as a community fair built around the church. It is a small-town parish festival rather than a large municipal Oktoberfest.
