Montrose Oktoberfest

The Montrose Shopping Park closes several blocks of Honolulu Avenue for a one-day Bavarian street party in the foothills above Glendale. A midway of carnival rides runs alongside the food and beer stalls, which is unusual for a chamber-run street festival of this size. Contests run through the afternoon, from stein holding to the Mr. and Ms. Oktoberfest titles and a junior version for children. Admission and parking cost nothing; rides, food and drink are bought item by item.
