Oktoberfest on the Square

La Grange fills its Fayette County courthouse square for an afternoon Oktoberfest held under the downtown live oaks. A tasting package buys a keepsake glass and a dozen small pours drawn from a lineup of Texas craft beers and German imports, while bands play under the event tent and vendors serve sausage, schnitzel and pretzels. General admission is free, so families can come for the music and children's activities without buying a tasting card. Proceeds go back into community projects through the local Rotary Club.
